Publication Ethics

The North East Journal of Management (NEJM) is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. Authors, reviewers, editors, and all involved parties are expected to adhere to the following ethical guidelines:

  1. Authorship and Contribution: All listed authors should have made substantial contributions to the research and agree to the final version of the manuscript. Honesty and accuracy in reporting results are paramount; data fabrication or manipulation is strictly prohibited and not acceptable.
  2. Plagiarism and Originality: Authors must submit original work, and any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism is unacceptable. Proper attribution and citation of sources must be provided for all content borrowed from others.
  3. Ethical Treatment of Subjects: Research involving human or animal subjects must adhere to ethical standards and obtain necessary approvals from relevant ethics committees. Authors should clearly state compliance with ethical guidelines and provide informed consent where applicable.
  4. Conflicts of Interest: Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any conflicts of interest that could potentially influence the research, review process, or editorial decisions. Editorial decisions will be made with objectivity, regardless of conflicts of interest.
  5. Peer Review: The peer-review process is essential for maintaining the quality of published research. Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, unbiased, and timely feedback, and handle manuscripts confidentially.
  6. Editorial Independence: Editorial decisions are based on the quality, validity, and relevance of the research, without influence from commercial interests or personal biases. Editors will recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have conflicts of interest.
  7. Publication Decisions: Manuscripts will be evaluated based on their academic merit, significance, and contribution to knowledge in the field. Decisions regarding acceptance, rejection, or revisions are made impartially.
  8. Correction and Retraction: Authors are responsible for promptly correcting errors discovered in their published work. Retraction will be considered in cases of serious ethical violations or significant errors.
  9. Editorial Transparency: NEJM commits to transparency in editorial processes and will provide reasons for editorial decisions upon request. Editorial policies, including peer-review processes, will be clearly communicated to authors and readers.
  10. Compliance with Guidelines: Authors should adhere to the journal's specific submission guidelines and policies, including Open Access and Copyright policies.
NEJM aims to ensure the integrity, credibility, and reliability of the research published in the journal, fostering a culture of responsible and ethical scholarly communication. Violations of these guidelines may result in corrective actions, including retractions or editorial expressions of concern.
